BANGALORE PALACE

Sometimes the most unfrequented of places are the ones closest to home and that’s precisely what happened with the Bangalore Palace (currently happening with the CN Tower!). Though born & bred in Bangalore, I didn’t bother paying a visit to the palace, (or even think about it!) until the summer of 2015. All thanks to my husband who is constantly on a hunt to find places to photograph. And yes..it was totally worth the wait…
Belonging to the Maharajas of Mysore, the palace is an epitome of grandeur & elegance. Be it the walls adorned by Ravi Varma paintings & photographs of the royal family or the geometrically tiled flooring in brown & tan or the glorious chandeliers and intricately carved motifs of the Durbar hall….they all give the visitor a peek into the history and lives of the Wodeyar dynasty. Here’s a glimpse….
